Words are the building blocks of communication. Comprehension vastly improves when a reader knows the meaning of the words on the page; and the main goal of reading is comprehension. For all students, English natives and ESL, a strong vocabulary benefits learning activities: reading, speaking, and listening. It boils down to the fact that the more words a child knows, the better their comprehension can become.
We have updated the Liberty Traditional Charter School Student Handbook for this year. We will be going over the handbook and changes at two spaghetti dinners to be held on August 16 and 19 at 4:30 p.m. Each plate includes a drink and costs $3. There will also be bounce castles for the kids to enjoy. We ask that all parents, guardians, and caretakers RSVP for only one event by returning the form at the bottom of the flyer sent home with your student. Please return your RSVP and payment by August 12.
Transitioning into middle school is a big change for students and parents. It requires more adept time management skills, independent responsibility, and a tougher course load. However, with the right tips, students can develop lifelong skills to help them succeed in all future academic endeavors. We have developed a list of beneficial habits to help your child transition and flourish in the upper grade levels.

Summer gives students a break from the endless math facts and book reports during the school year, but there is still more learning to be done. Here are some tips on how to escape the summer heat and have fun indoors, while sneaking in some learning and family fun.
The first day of school is July 27. This flyer contains all the information you’ll need to be school-ready for the first day, including the uniform code, school hours, and details on a special back-to-school event.
On July 25, all of this year’s kindergartners, and their families, are invited to our Kinder Round-Up. From 4-6 p.m., meet teachers, see classrooms, and newly enrolled kindergarten families will receive freebies. See our flyer for all the details.
