From September 27 to October 13, donate your unwanted items by dropping them in the blue Goodwill bins on campus. Part of the cash value will go to Liberty, and the other part will go toward helping Arizona’s unemployed. Who knew your junk could do so much?

Fall begins every year on the day of the autumnal equinox. Typically, this event takes place on September 22 or 23. This year, the equinox will happen on September 22 at 1:02 p.m. MST.

Join us on September 22 for a potluck event at Enchanted Island Amusement Park. Admission is free and unlimited rides are only $9.95, a portion of which will go toward Liberty’s fundraising goals.

On September 13, parents will have the opportunity to experience Liberty’s standards-based, differentiated instruction through student-guided classroom tours.

The teachers, administrators, and staff at Liberty Phoenix would like to express gratitude for the generosity of Liberty parents in helping us meet our fundraising goals.

On August 28-29, from 3-4 p.m., parents who plan on volunteering this year can get free required fingerprinting at Liberty Phoenix. Fingerprinting will take place in the cafeteria on a first come, first served basis. A photo ID is required. Future dates for fingerprinting are scheduled.

Parents will do anything for their children. So, it should come as no surprise that when children are agonizing over nightly homework assignments, parents are eager to alleviate the pain by offering their help. This raises several questions: What are the best ways to help kids with homework, and how much help is too much?

Liberty parents and students are invited to join us for free ice cream at the Family Ice Cream Social on August 16 at 4 p.m. for grades K-3, and on August 18 at 4 p.m. for grades 4-8.

Here are two fortuitously coincidental facts: the sun is approximately 400 times further away from us as the moon, and the moon is approximately 400 times smaller than the sun. Because of that cosmic congruence, the moon and the sun appear to be the same size. The reason it’s fortuitous is that, during a solar eclipse, the moon exactly covers the face of the sun, allowing spectators a rare chance to see the sun’s atmosphere, or corona.

There are big changes planned for Liberty in the coming year to enhance our campus and benefit our students. We’re asking Liberty families to look out for upcoming fundraisers and lend a helping hand by contributing.
